Small eucalypt leaves slip through cheap plastic guard and pack down in the gutter. We only fit aluminium mesh, so it stays flat, holds its shape in the sun and keeps even small leaves sitting on top, where wind and rain clear them.

Yes. Aluminium mesh keeps gum leaves on top of the guard instead of in the gutter. A few leaves may sit on top after a storm, and they usually blow off once dry.
